Dec 4 The main highlight here is elephant, which mass here in enormous numbers during the dry season June to December Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and special location.
In Tarangire herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It's the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. Tarangire's mobs of elephant are easily encountered lions are also spotted frequently in this park.
Early evening proceed to Lake Burunge tented camp for dinner and overnight. This is a beautiful facility with great accommodations in permanent tented structures, giving the feeling of being in Africa, yet without giving up the comforts of comfortable beds, flush toilets and hot showers. http://www.tanganyikawildernesscamps.com/camps/lakeburungetentedcamp Lake Burunge Tented Lodge is only a 10 minutes drive away from Tarangire National Park. Lake Burunge Tented Lodge consists of 20 Luxury Tents located in a shady bush land grove, with spectacular views onto Lake Burunge. Its main building offers a central lounge and bar/dining area built on a raised wooden deck. This elevated platform is the ideal venue for guests to relax and enjoy a sun downer whilst the sun disappears over the lake, or to simply sit and enjoy the warm fire place.
Dec 5
We will spend the rest of the day on safari game drives in this beautiful park. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo and wildebeest can be found grazing in unexpected clearings in the woodlands or heading towards water sources to drink or wash. The rivers and riverbeds provide scenic vistas for wildlife watching. Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.”. The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.
Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park offers varied ecosystems, incredible bird life, and breathtaking views. Located on the way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, Lake Manyara National Park is well worth a stop in its own right. Its ground water forests, bush plains, baobob strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs offer incredible ecological variety in a small area, rich in wildlife and incredible numbers of birds.
Late afternoon ascent up the scenic escarpment and then proceed to the Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge for dinner and overnight. Let us invite you to discover one of Tanzania's best kept secrets. Lake Manyara, a small breathtaking National Park with an immense natural richness - home of over 380 bird species, including the thousands of flamingos that tint the soda waters of the Lake pink and the famous tree-climbing lions, which for reasons unknown sleep in the branches of acacia trees. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge is strategically located on the very edge of the vertiginous western escarpment of the Rift Valley, affording magnificent views down across the whole Lake Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge invites you to an unforgettable safari experience from its privileged location, unrivalled by any other, both for game viewing and scenery. Elegantly designed as a two-level ensemble of buildings, its authentic traditional African style decorations create a unique atmosphere that perfectly combines extreme tranquility with the best of adventure-packed safari experiences. From its privileged position, all the Lodge's 100 guestrooms have stunning views across the tranquil and beautiful waters of the Lake. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge has 100 spacious guestrooms, each of them with a private verandah boasting a panoramic view of the National Park and the flamingo-colored Lake below.

Dec 6 By midday we will drive to the famous Serengeti National Park. Picnic lunches will be served at Naabi Hill Gate so that immediately afterwards, the group will spend the rest of the day game viewing on the famous Serengeti plains.
Serengeti National Park is widely regarded as the best wildlife reserve in Africa due to its density of predators and prey
The park also supports many further species, including cheetah, Thomson's and Grant's gazelle, topi, eland, water buck, hyena, baboon, impala, African wild dog and giraffe. The park also boasts about 500 bird species, including ostrich, secretary bird, Kori bustard, crowned crane, marabou stork, martial eagle, lovebirds and many species of vultures. Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. Serengeti: The WildlifeThis land is justifiably famous for its huge concentrations of wildlife, especially the big cats, as well as being the stomping ground of the Great Migration, a massive accumulation of 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 350,000 gazelles stretching their legs over 1,200 miles in an annual race to find enough water and green grass for their survival
Early evening check into our accommodations. Our passengers will have the choice of lodge of permanent tent accommodations, offering you the opportunity to choose the way you spend the next 2 nights to best meet your African safari dreams. Seronera Wildlife Lodge is located on the migratory route, and it provides front-seat viewing of this extraordinary natural phenomenon. Wildlife Lodge has 75 spacious guestrooms, all of them affording stunning views over the Serengeti plains Seronera Lodge is only 5 minutes from the departing point of the hot air balloon safaris, which offer a thrilling bird's-eye wildlife perspective of the vast plains of The Serengeti.
Those choosing the tented camp option will be taken to check in at the Ikoma tented camp for dinner and overnight. Set in the midst of an incredible vista of savannah and skies, sheltered in a grove of acacia trees is Ikoma Tented Camp. Simplicity and rusticness are the ambiance of the camp.
